Fairfax County Police Investigate Shooting in Bailey’s Crossroads – NBC4 Washington

Fairfax County police in Virginia are telling people to shelter in place in the Bailey’s Crossroads area while they investigate vehicle damage from gunfire.

Two or three vehicles were found with damage in the 3500 block of South Jefferson Street, police said. Authorities said the damage was confirmed to be from a firearm. No information was immediately released on any injuries or any suspect sought by police.

Leesburg Pike (Route 7) is closed in the area near Falls Church and Bailey’s Crossroads, police said. South Jefferson Street also is closed, police said.

The area includes a number of stores and restaurants.

Chopper4 reporter Brad Freitas said emergency vehicles could be seen flooding into the area, including several police cars near food trucks. Only limited, non-emergency traffic could be seen moving, and few pedestrians were out.
