Fallen Order Features the Most Terrifying Darth Vader

Darth Vader is one of the most iconic characters in cinema history, going past his original appearances in film to show up in television, animation, books, comics, and video games. He is a character who is more than a little complicated as he initially appeared as a villain in the original Star Wars trilogy, before being portrayed as the protagonist in the prequel trilogy, and his character arc is one of the most compelling not only in the Star Wars franchise but when considering fictional characters in general. Though he has many heroic moments — mostly as Anakin Skywalker — Darth Vader is an essential villain in cinema history, yet his most terrifying portrayal does not occur in one of the Star Wars films but in a video game.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a 2019 game that takes place five years after the events of Revenge of the Sith. It follows Cal Kestis, a Padawan who survived Order 66, which had all the clones terminate Jedi, and now must escape the Imperial Inquisitors while attempting to rebuild the fallen Jedi order. Cal Kestis’ story has become one that fans have truly enjoyed, with the success of the game encouraging Disney to create more original stories within the video games and other media. However, there is one dark moment in the game that truly depicts the evil of Darth Vader.
