Most laptops in the segment are equipped with simple displays, CPUs and other components. But Indian companies like iBall have tried to take the level up by introducing something new. Today we will discuss about CompBook i360. It can also play the role of a two-in-one touchscreen laptop tablet and is priced below Rs 15,000. On paper, this seems like a good option, but its actual performance will be known only after a review. Our effort will also be to find out if iBall has done anything in relation to the shortcomings of the previous model that we have exposed.
IBall Compbook i360 Design and Build Quality
The material quality of these laptops in the budget segment remains almost the same. The i360 is also made using plastic. The champagne color model looks good, but the build quality is average. The laptop is quite thick. The thickness is 17 millimeters and the 1.35 kg system makes it feel slightly heavier.
Dual-hinge technique gives a feeling of robustness. Being convertible, you can flip the display far back after which the laptop will run like a tablet. Physical connections are also very good. You get a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, mini HDMI, 3.5mm headphone and microphone combo port. It also has a microSD card slot. There is no SD card reader in it. The power button is on the right side and after that a switch is also provided to disable the keyboard. This switch works when using the laptop in tablet mode. By the way, this function would have been better if it were automatic.
The display has an 11.6-inch TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. It comes with multi-touch support. Viewing angles are not very good and the display is not very good even in terms of color reproduction. The low resolution means that the text on the screen does not look very good. The trackpad has plenty of space and the buttons are easy to press. But the tracking is not very good. It happened to us many times that Windows got minimized, whereas we just wanted to move the cursor. The island-style keyboard layout is quite good. Sadly, typing on it is not very convenient. In the box you will find a charger, cleaning cloth and a micro-USB cable.
IBall Compbook i360 specification
The Intubal Atom X5-Z8300 chipset is used in the CompBook i360. The same chip is also given in RDP ThinBook and Notion Ink Able 10. It has four CPU cores. The highest clock speed of this processor is 1.84 GHz. And along with it is HD graphics. Flash storage is 32 GB and RAM is 2 GB. The laptop has Wi-Fi B / G / N, Bluetooth 4.0 and VGA webcams.
Compbook i360 laptop will come with Windows 10 Home 32 bit. The number of pre-installed apps in the laptop is also not very high.
IBall Compbook i360 Performance
The iBall 360 may be capable of playing two roles, but we have to remember that it is an entry-level hardware. So do not raise too much expectations. The good thing is that flash memory is very fast, so it does not take long for the system to turn on. The good thing about the laptop’s chipset is that it does not require active cooling. So the i360 works peacefully. Its base gets slightly heated during charging. But not so much that you are upset.
App and gaming performance is weak. The program takes some time to load. Sometimes Windows Explorer also takes time to open. This decrease is also highlighted by the benchmark results.
The iBall Compbook i360 is not a very effective tablet even after being converted, especially in terms of weight and thickness. The 10 finger touch response is good, but due to the distance on the outer surface and the actual display, it gives the feeling of being a resistive panel. Apart from this, the brightness is also very low. Viewing angles are poor and colors are also extremely low. We are not very satisfied with the large bezel around the display.
The video decoding engine in the iBall CompBook i360 allows high resolution videos to play smoothly. You will also be able to play 4K videos. Stereo speakers are at the bottom. In tablet mode they do not block the sound coming from them. The speaker also makes a loud loud sound.
The CompBook i360 has a 10000 mAh battery. This battery lasted for 5 hours 53 minutes in the Eater Pro test. In common use, it will easily last for a day. The difficulty is that the 1.25 W power adapter takes a lot of time to charge this battery.
Eyeball is good about the i360, but it is lacking in its implementation. It is not easy to put so many functions in a laptop at this price. Because of this, the big brand has not made any effort in this direction yet. The iBall version of the convertible laptop for Rs 13,999 is not very impressive. We believe that you will use the common laptop more.
The funny thing is that one model of iBall is Flip-X5 which costs Rs 2,000 more. However, you will get it cheaply in the market. This device will get full-HD display. By the way, we have not reviewed this laptop, so I would not like to say anything about the performance. But you are sure to get more sharp display.
The Compbook i360’s battery goes in its favor. Apart from this, it is one of the cheapest Windows 10 machines available in the market. However, if you need a computer, then think of some other options.
