Police in Kiambu have launched investigations on the murder of a Mass communication student at Kenya Institute of Mass and Communication.

The 22-year-old lady was murdered and her body dumped in a thicket in Buriria village on the outskirts of Kiambu town.

The body was found by residents Saturday morning, the head covered while her personal Items lay beside the body.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim, whose ID card indicates hails from Laikipia, may have succumbed to knife stabs on the back of her body.

The residents who were in anguish said the incident was isolated but called upon the police to enhance security in the area.

The body has been taken to the Kiambu mortuary as forensic investigations continue.
