Here are our top stories:
Amber Heard’s Kate Moss mention had Johnny Depp’s legal team cheering
In the first of three Johnny Depp/Amber Heard stories to crack our Top 5 of the week, Depp’s legal team was quietly – but not subtly – celebrating after Heard brought up Johnny’s ex, Kate Moss, in court.
Alleged misdeeds from the past aren’t typically allowed to be brought in as evidence but by Heard mentioning Depp’s allegedly encounter with Moss, then Team Depp could bring up Heard’s 2009 altercation with her former partner, Tasya van Ree. Tit for tat.
Amber Heard caught ‘posing’ while crying on the stand?
Meanwhile, Depp supporters were losing it after some armchair detectives dissected Heard’s overdramatic two-day testimony and discovered that she “posed” for photos while crying (albeit, with no tears flowing) on the stand.
Bless Amber’s heart for thinking she’s that good an actress.
Tennis champ Boris Becker having hard time in prison
Poor Boris Becker.
The six-time Grand Slam champion, who is serving time for hiding assets during a bankruptcy, is not having a good time of it behind bars.
In his first week in jail, Becker complained about being served corned beef for his first meal, and was “shocked by lack of hygiene, overcrowding and darkness of jail.”
Firstly, what’s wrong with corned beef? And second, it sounds like the basement we work in. Becker has two-and-a-half more years, less a week, to go. Best of luck, Boris.
Kiss-cam turns into breakup-cam at Phillies game
Philadelphia is known as the City of Brotherly Love – not romantic love, in case that wasn’t clear.
During a recent Philadelphia Phillies game, whoever was controlling what fans at home were seeing had a field day when they spotted a couple of miserable fans going through what appeared to be a breakup.
As the man spoke, the woman was seen crying, and the Mets’ broadcast team took over and narrated the entire drama unfolding before their eyes.
Amber Heard recoils as she and Johnny Depp lock eyes in viral clip
You readers either love a good trial or love Mark Daniell’s reporting. Whatever the case, it’s gold.
Heard’s overdramatic testimony is one thing, but her over-the-top acting is another. Yes, we’re referring to that time she left the stand and stumbled backwards as she and Depp locked eyes as court broke for recess.
Please watch the clip, if only for Depp’s reaction.
FYI, the trial resumes Monday at 9 a.m., so keep visiting torontosun.com, with popcorn in hand, for your latest updates.
