Two Juveniles Arrested for a Shooting on West Short Street


Two individuals have been arrested following a shooting at West Short Street and Mill Street on September 10, 2022.

At 10:44 p.m., officers responded to the area of West Short Street and Mill Street for a shooting. When officers arrived, they located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a local hospital. One victim suffered critical injuries and the other was treated for reported non-life threatening injuries.

Two juveniles were arrested and charged in connection with the shooting. Lexington Police is prohibited from identifying the suspects because they are juveniles, but their ages and charges are as follows:

Suspect #1 – 16 years old

  • Two counts of Assault 1st Degree
  • Two counts of Possession of a Handgun by a Minor
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
     

Suspect #2 – 16 years old

  • Two counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
