A West Bengal woman sang Rabindra sangeet while giving birth to her daughter.
Sushmita Dey, a resident of Hattubar in North 24 Parganas district, sang Rabindranath Tagore‘s ‘Amaro Parano Jaha Chai’ song while doctors performed her C-section delivery.

Sushmita was admitted to a private nursing home in Maslandpur on May 3.

Inside the operation theatre, doctors and nurses talked to her to reduce her stress. When Sushmita told them that she did her graduation in music, they requested her to sing Rabindra Sangeet. She then sang ‘Amaro Parano Jaha Chai’ as doctors helped her deliver her daughter Divyangshi.

“I will never forget that day. I can’t forget the words of doctors and nurses. On the 161st birth centenary of Rabindranath Tagore, I shared the video of that special moment of singing expressing my respect to the poet and my gratitude to the doctors and nurses. I am happy that I got a good response,” she was quoted as saying by News 18.
