Willow Season 2 canceled: Disney+ is not returning with fantasy adventure series
Willow, a fantasy adventure TV series, made its debut on Disney+ from November 30, 2022, to January 2023, and received largely favorable reviews from viewers. However, it is regrettable to announce that there will be no Willow Season 2 on Disney+.
The announcement was made two months after the eight-episode first season of the show concluded its run on the streaming platform. Willow served as a sequel to the classic movie of the same name. Willow, the fantasy adventure TV series, is a continuation of the 1988 film of the same name created by George Lucas. Set 17 years after the defeat of Queen Bavmorda, the Willow series follows the journey of six heroes who embark on a perilous quest to distant lands beyond their homelands. Along the way, they confront their inner demons and work together to save their world from the Gales, a dangerous threat that puts the fate of their world in peril.
Warwick Davis returns to portray Willow Ufgood in the series, reprising the character he played in the original film. The series, based on the Willow franchise, was conceptualized for a television adaptation on Disney+ through a collaboration between the franchise’s creator, George Lucas, and the series’ creator, Jonathan Kasdan.
